The Newness of You There is always a newness in love shared by those who share secrets and fantasy. “there was a gaiety and lightness in the air then, a delight of new discovery, that I do not think we shall find again; yet I know, and you also know, what excellent strength we have gained instead.”
To G.W. Russell from Charles Johnston
From: The Upanishads
long ago and far away
I was new and each day brought fresh
discovery to my wonder
that I should earn the delight of you
into the realm of loving I marveled
wandering as you led
the you who came willingly
shedding the conventions of life
dropping societal expectations
on the upward spiral leading
to the chamber of delights
revealed between opened thighs
taking up the guise of courtesan
whore and lover all at once
teaching abandonment and desire
to one bound up in tedium
flesh delighting in flesh
unjaded by preconception or prejudice
releasing the sequestered passions
to flights of rapture
till I who reveled in your abandonment
matched your fervor and overflowed
with the eagerness of callow youth
first tempted by Isis’ bounty
