Survey Says... Ever read the reports & findings of sexuality studies, and wonder ‘Where do they find those people?!’ Ever wonder how on earth they could get those results & report such findings? They must have had really weird folks as participants. If you have ever thought research has suffered from a lack of real people, here’s your chance: two survey opportunities. Take part now, let yourself be heard & do so asap to be a part of the findings!
Gender & Internet Sex Study
We here at Sex-Kitten.Net are open about sexuality. And that includes porn.
For many of us, & by ‘us’ I mean human beings, pornography is a part of our sexuality. The degrees vary, consumption varies, but most of us enjoy ‘porn.’
From softcore images on & between the covers of Cosmo, Stuff & Victoria’s Secret, to email images & jokes; from written erotica, to hardcore pay sites; we humans enjoy them all. And these activities of arousal are not for the ill or unbalanced, they are enjoyed by everyday, normal, healthy folks. It’s one of the main reason we have this site, to discuss & enjoy sexuality as the beautiful & fun gift it is!
While the current political climate & to some extent the social climate as well, are anti-porn, we continue to be a voice of reason.
So when I heard that Ryan J. Burns, Ph.D. was doing a study on the motivations for developing computer-mediated sexual relationships, the effects of exposure to Internet pornography and rape myth acceptance, and studies of the gender role attitudes of Internet pornography consumers, I figured not only did I have to take part in the survey, but that we all needed to.
Why? Because most of the studies are from the male perspective.
As he wrote to me: “In fact, I will be the first to admit that most porn research (90%+) examines male users (most of my respondents are men so far). So if I could get a considerable amount of female users . . . that would be amazing and would be one of the few studies that actually could compare male and female users on the same variables.”
So I challenge all of you, especially you Sex Kittens, to take the Internet-enabled sexuality and Internet pornography Survey. (At the end, there is a comment box. Feel free to let him know you found the survey from our site; just put our url, Sex-Kitten.Net, or SK in the box! Thank you!)
Seduction Survey
Also, not to be overlooked, is the study by Jessica White, a PhD Student, researching how to hold on to someone and how to eradicate distance through letter writing. The first part of her work revolves around Seduction.
Ms White wrote: “ I'm looking at letter writing both in cyberspace and conventionally (ie pen and paper). Subjects for the cyberspace part should be pretty easy to access (that's one of the reasons why I'm doing this survey) but I have yet to hunt down writers of filthy letters.”
If you have seduced or been seduced online, or if you have played seduction games via written word the old fashioned way, you should take part in the survey.
You may contact her to get a copy of the survey at pricklypear@goggo.com.au. Please let her know where you found this survey information as well.
