This DVD lets you "live through" photographer Steve Diet Goedde's camera lens and view over 700 of his images.

For those not familiar with the name Steve Diet Goedde, he is one of the country's premier fetish fashion photographers. Goedde signature style of photography is now immortalized on the new DVD anthology of his work titled Living Through... Steve Diet Goedde. The disc includes galleries of over 700 photographs, both in black and white and color, as well as interviews with models, a behind the scenes featurette, and commentary by Steve himself on each of the photos.

Goedde's style of photography not only the erotic nature of fetishism, but also the beauty of the female form. His photographs are never sleazy, but instead classy, yet naughty. He works with top fetish models such as Dita von Tesse, Masuimi Max, Aria Giovanni, Emily Marilyn, and FetishDiva Midori, but captures the unique beauty in all his models perfectly. His photographs are each a work of fine art, not nearly a mere photograph.

Each of Goedde's photographs has a sense of stylish perfection to it, and indeed, that reflects his shooting style. His models all attest that he shoots very few photos during shoots, sometimes not even using half a roll, but makes sure each photograph turns out beautiful. He rarely uses artificial light, but instead opts for outdoor settings and natural lighting setups. He hates digital photography and almost always shoots on film, with old cameras he's used for years. He prefers black and white over color. He admits to not knowing much about new technology and shoots in the same style has since he started taking pictures as a kid. Old School, yes, but the proof is in the pudding. It works.

A bit of a fetishist himself, Steve admits to having a thing for women's shoes while growing up. That fetish is reflected here, with many shots of women's feet and shoes, from laced-up boots to hooker heels. He also has a knack for dressing women and many of the models here are dressed head to toes in latex, leather, or corsets. There are some nudes, but most are respectfully done, and capture the intricacies of the female form without exploiting it. Even listening to the audio commentary, you can tell Goedde has a deep respect for his models, as they do for him.

Although it may seem strange to see a woman in fetish gear standing on the Golden Gate Bridge or in the financial district of Chicago, somehow these situations work here. Oddly enough, his photographs make it look almost normal for a woman in a rubber dress to be hanging out in the middle of a field or abandoned car lot. The majority of his photos are taken outside, using natural sunlight, which though temperamental, looks beautiful. Goedde remembers each location in detail on the audio commentary, as well as each model and where and when they met.

Whether you are into photography, fetish, or fine art, you will find something to enjoy in Steve Diet's work. He adds a modern twist onto the cheesecake pin-up style of Bettie Page's classic photos, while still retaining the same nuances that made her images so beloved. Living Through-Steve Diet Goedde allows you to see all of the photos from his books The Beauty of Fetish Vol. I and The Beauty of Fetish Vol. II on one disc along with commentary from Steve and his models. A wonderful treat.
