Mapping Your Sex Life: Understanding Your Approach to Passion, Trust & Intimacy I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking to have definitive answers on their sex life. It could pose for fun. Especially if you started doing all your friend's charts and could use it to bring up all those sex related questions you hadn't had a reason to ask them yet. By Stephanie Jean Clement, Ph.D.
I dunno about you, but I always feel like books like this should provide some sort of answer. To my continuing dismay, they never do.
Every time I get sucked into one of these proto-self help books, I end up adding to my growing list of "life" questions. So I mapped my sex life. I might as well have given Jackson Pollack a circle and told him to go to town.
My "chart" looks like an assimilation of randomly drawn lines connected to various points on a circle. These points indicate different parts of my personality and the ways in which these points are connected bring together the “bigger picture” of my personality. This is all fine and dandy, but hearing that I am “quite a sensual person” just doesn’t really pin point things enough for me to even give a crap.
The book does layout important issues that I do have, which include things like a desire for security and intense sexual prowess. What it does not explain is the relevance that theses personality traits have in accordance to the other parts of my chart. It effectively maps out my astrological profile, but it does not effectively help me understand my “approach to passion, trust & intimacy”. Basically, it gives some really broad opinions which could apply to almost anyone.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking to have definitive answers on their sex life. It could pose for fun. Especially if you started doing all your friend's charts and could use it to bring up all those sex related questions you hadn't had a reason to ask them yet. Meow.
