Sex-Kitten.net Brings You The Art Issue Reflections, reactions, recommendations, reasonings, reckonings, raves and rants and on art, artists, artistic processes, works themselves, galleries, and, I suspect, even definitions of art itself... Normally, I as the editor take a few moments to summarize the issue ~ giving you an idea of what lies ahead for you. It's never an easy task to do (very similar to herding cats it is!), but damn near impossible for this issue.
Few things are more subjective than art. You have a being using creative process to convey a message; that's one interpretation. There is then the artistic response or reaction to the piece, which, in better case scenarios, is made of two interpretations: 1) the viewer interpreting what they see, and 2) working through their reaction of "I love it," "I hate it," "It's too blue," or whatnot to discover why they feel that way about the message and/or the color 'blue.' And kindly remember that artistic response is happening both at the individual level as well as a larger cultural or political level as well. Communities react to art, calling it brilliant, classical or perhaps even legislating it. Now, enter the Sex Kittens themselves who may be writing about any part of all this. Who knows what they will say?
So, for this issue, I am much like you: I'll be reading and discovering as well.
With much affection,
Gracie
