Mapping Your Sex Life by Stephanie Jean Clement, Ph.D. I have often looked around at the bizarre, unfamiliar terrain of my sex life and thought, "I sure could use a map..."  The map you'll find here uses astrology to help you predict and understand your approach to passion, trust and intimacy. The book comes with a CD-ROM which will "calculate and interpret your needs and desires." Clement examines the birth chart for Mata Hari as an example.
An astrological birth chart maps the locations of the planets and constellations at the moment of your birth. Clement provides a good basic introduction to the birth chart elements (signs, houses, aspects) and their meanings. Each chapter includes exercises for the reader as a learning aid. Those who find astrology meaningful may find this to be a useful approach to sex and intimacy. The information is certainly quite thorough and well presented. If you're feeling introspective enough to want to understand your own sexuality and identify your needs and desires, I think that any method you use will lead you to insightful answers, so this method is as good as any. As for me, I have the same problem applying astrology to my sex life as I do applying it to life in general. Unlike tarot, dream interpretation and other New Age freaky-woo tools used to make sense of my life, astrology just doesn't resonate with meaning for me. I go into more detail in my boudoir. The most I got from this book was a brief but fascinating look at Mata Hari. As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to good sex, you'd do better to consider the position of your anus than that of Uranus. Aha-ha. Ha.
