The 2nd time Around The results are in... May 9th, 2007. 12:02pm CST. Right now...I'm in the blue room. My new sanctuary. I'm looking out the window..it's opened and a warm breeze is coming in. The silver maple's leaves are in full bloom as are the crab apple trees. I can faintly smell them. The house across the street, has these cement flower boxes, busting out with red and yellow tulips and some little blue flowers...the sky is blue..the sun is shining. As I sit quietly taking in the delights of the day...the phone rings. I know who it is. The name and number show up on the caller ID. My hands are shaking. My heart is pounding. I break out in a cold sweat. I'm prepared for the worst, prayed, and am hoping for the best. "Hello" "Yes, good morning, is this Kat?" "Yes" "How are you? This is Dr. Satchie." "I'm scared, that's how I am...now stop pussy-footing around and give me the results." She laughs..."No Cancer." I dropped the phone. "Oops..sorry about that. You DID say NO CANCER, right?" "Yes I did, Kat." "I LOOOOOOOOVE YOU" she laughs again...says she loves me back...schedules a follow up appointment and tells me we'll talk more then. Hubby is in the kitchen...ready to head out to his office. I slowly walk out of my sanctuary...head bowed...he heard the phone ring. I look at him from the hall....and start to run...jump on him...knock him down...kiss him furiously, and we roll on the kitchen floor whispering over and over again...no cancer, no cancer, no cancer......and we cry, and thank God.
