Mommy Has A Headache... Gracie's Been Sleeping In Your Blog Because I'm often not posting comments as I should, you may not know I've been there & loved that. Emma K is the mommy with a headache ~ but I didn't cause it. As she says, maybe it was one too many martinis. Whatever the reason, and kids alone will do that to you, the headache doesn't bring this mommy down. If anything, it only brings on the snark, and that, my dears, can be a wonderful gift to any blog reader. And not just to readers who are sick of, "Sorry I didn't post, but my cat threw-up" posts either. Snark, backed by an eloquent disposition (which I'm rather certain Emma and the rest of us would have if the world weren't so full of idiots and dull folks who persist upon getting in our way) and the desire to use words and wit to deal with them, is one of the greater gifts we have. It might even rival that of orgasm... it certainly is a way into my pants. But that's more about me and my thoughts ~ and this is about Ms. Emma.
At Mommy Has a Headache, you'll find the usual daily grind presented in an unusual manner, which is to say that she finds or forces the delightful to emerge from the stuff most of us just sigh at and walk away from. It's like she chokes the wit out of 'em.
With her keen eye and even sharper tongue, Emma gets us to look at all this "stuff" and realize that perhaps there's something here after all. If nothing else, reading at Mommy Has a Headache is a reminder that even if we can't laugh with 'em, we sure can laugh at 'em. In fact, we must.
It's why the gods put these clowns here.
Or why the gods put Emma in our here & now, rather than requiring us to live without her snark support.
I don't always agree with everything she says. (Who expects Gracie to be that way?) Such as "Ripping yourself a new one" ~ I could argue a few points, but why ruin the general snark-fest which is a pleasure to read?
At Mommy Has a Headache, the mundane becomes insane, the petty grand, and you realize the witty are their own reward.
Normally, the wisest sages will advise that the frustrated send whatever ails them to hell, dismissing it all; I'd say, when something crawls up your butt, rubs you the wrong way, send yourself to Mommy Has a Headache and get yer snark on.
