Profiles & interviews that feature women you need to know as well as essays, articles, information and yes, some rants which when all put together somehow form an unofficial Sex Kitten Manifesto.
We often hear folks prattling on and on about the dangers of sex positive women, especially when those women are mothers; we hear how those women damage their children, especially if those children are female; but what we don't often hear are the facts:

Children raised in homes where human sexuality is discussed appropriately as a healthy part of a human being's life grow to become healthy, sexually responsible and responsive adults.

On this week's Cult of Gracie show you'll hear the amazing truth from one family.

Talking with Alessia Brio about the sexy humanitarian effort Coming Together, the series of erotica anthologies which raises funds along with libidos.
Too lazy to type up more than this ~ and it will be cross-posted "everywhere" ~ but I (Gracie) just signed the emergency message to Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, whose department is considering this stuoopid rule change and here's the quick cut & paste letter to forward:
Darling Nikki Nines wrote a very eloquent piece comparing BDSM to, of all things, Gothic architecture. I wouldn't have thought of that, but it makes sense... And it intrigued me enough to ask Nikki a few questions...
Libby tests her working knowledge of the ass and demonstrates sex positions at Tristan Taormino's anal sex education seminar.
Gracie adapts the classic poem to fit today's political apathy.
Surprisingly, or perhaps not, both Libby and myself each had our own interviews on XBN Radio, this past weekend. XBN is a media project of SWOP East, a chapter of Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP) USA, a national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of sex workers and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.

I say it was surprising, because neither of us knew the other was doing so until just days before; however, given our work & passion for the industry (big mouths), it really shouldn't be so surprising. Or maybe it still is a bit surprising for me...

There is a new trend occurring in the dating world -- no, it's not Internet dating! In fact, USA today found that the old-fashioned way, like blind dates & matchmaking, just might be the best way to get those quality first dates. But how do you get to the second -- or more?

Victorya Michaels Rogers is the author of The Automatic 2nd Date and Finding a Man Worth Keeping. During her single years Victorya went from no dates to being pursued by an Academy Award winning actor, Grammy winning rock star, gospel singer, DJ, pro-athlete, firefighter, naval aviator, and more. Rogers not only discovered the secrets to finding a man but also the secrets to finding and keeping the man of your dreams.

Here, Victorya tells us more about it -- including tips for Valentine's Day!

The former news anchor, and now First Lady of California, Maria Shriver sits down with Fitness’s Caroline Hwang and offers her tips for the mind, body and soul.
A few weeks ago I was privileged enough to catch "The Great Porn Debate" between self-proclaimed "Porn Pastor" Craig Gross and porn legend Ron Jeremy. By now you all know what happened after the debate, but here's a rundown of what Craig and Ron are bickering about each night on their traveling roadshow.
And God Created Woman, founded in 2006 by Nerys Hebdon, creates sophisticated, sensual boudoir items and accessories for lovers. Each item is made from the finest textiles and tactile treats -- silk, Egyptian cotton, ostrich feathers -- and in a rich but subtle color palette, sure to work in and with nearly any Sex Kitten's boudoir.

I posted about the fabulous Tie Me Cushion (a must have!) and Nerys contacted me to say 'Thank you' -- that's when I got pushy and asked for an interview...

"I guess I just prefer to see the dark side of things. The glass is always half-empty. And cracked. And I just cut my lip on it. And chipped a tooth."
~ Janeane Garofalo ~

In late March, I hosted and event on Women and the Porn Industry at the Leather Archives in Chicago.

We viewed Becky Goldberg's documentary, "Hot and Bothered: Feminist Pornography" and then I hosted a panel discussion with erotic filmmakers Jack Hafferkamp of Libido Films and Carolyn Caizzi of Early to Bed Productions, as well as director Becky Goldberg. Here are the transcripts of the night's speeches and discussion.

(You can read my review of Becky's film "Hot and Bothered:Feminist Pornography" here.)

The world lost another strong woman this week, but not before she said what she had to say. Her name was Molly Ivins, and after 62 feisty years, cancer was the only thing that could shut her up.
Hell, yes! Charlene Lanzel's all this and more.

Best known for her series of Pin-Up Girls, but Charlene's other gigs make you think of her as being the pinup model rather than the artist. Let the history entertain you -- develop a huge girly crush, like Slip Of A Girl -- but don't underestimate this fine artist!

Whitney Lee is a textiles artist specializing in latch-hook rugs. Her works are wildly popular because, as she herself says, "of the giggly irony of seeing a sex-pot image in a medium that you associate with your grandmother."

While latch-hook rugs in general are considered kitsch by some, quaint by others, what Whitney does with them makes others question if she debases women, explores the cultural exploitation of women, or if she just makes smutty-but-cute crafts. This makes a Sex Kitten think.

DeeDee caught up with the artist and asked her more about her work.

Ask anyone who the hottest name in porn is today and they're sure to answer, Joanna Angel. Angel is the co-founder and owner of the hugely successful altporn site, Burning Angel, which features hardcore pictures and videos of tattooed hipsters, as well as interviews with punk bands. Sex and rock 'n roll never blended together so well.

Angel herself invokes the true spirit of a Sex-Kitten: she wears the hats of writer, producer, director, model, porn star, and webdiva and is unapologetically feminist.

After reading Slip's interview with Emily about her new invention for panties, I checked out Emily's website. She's invented many other cool things, things that solve a multitude of everyday problems.
Unless you're two men.
In a book.
To be reviewed...

In romance novels they meet, hearts go pitter-patter, and romance blooms. No matter how hard they fight it, no matter the obstacles in their way, love wins. Right? Well that may be how the story goes, but not the reviews at Romantic Times book reviews.

Shemia Miller started her career with the hopes of entering law school and fighting the system. She went to school to get a BA in Sociology and a MBA in Global Management. She's used her education to consult diplomats, political leaders, as well as entertainment leaders. But currently she works in the Rap music industry as the Vice President of Marketing Strategies and Communications at Daz Dillinger's hit record label DPGC, sister company of Snoop Dogg's. And she writes chicklit to boot!

I know complicated women (I am a complicated woman!), but just who the heck is Shemia Miller?!

Gracie attempts to find out...

Given that this is 'The BIG Controversy Issue' I asked Chloe one more question...

She not only replied, but sent along some poetry too.

DeeDee ponders the pandering disguised as medical advances.
"Show us your boobs," a familiar cry on Bourbon Street. In the aftermath of Katrina, women are still showing their wares ~ but this time, it's not the beads they are after: it's donations for hurricane relief!
Gracie interviews Pink Snow & Justin of the band Erocktica.
Gloria Brame, leading international authority on BDSM and fetish sex, talks culture and politics with Gracie.
Gracie walks into Spencer's Gifts, falls in love, and begins stalking. This time, the object of her admiration is the wonderfully fascinating artist A.V. Phibes.
Putting their money where their mouth is and their pussy where there politics are.
After hearing her on an Internet Radio Station, ADeadHeart was compelled to interview the very talented Skinny White Chick. Check out her website, check out her music... and before you go, read a few words (ok, a lot of words) from a strong, empowered woman who has big plans... and is well on her way to reaching both her goals, and a bunch of people, in the process.
Part of our culture now has adapted terms like 'grrl,' 'sistah,' and other she-bonics. It's a way for young women to assert themselves as individuals and identify as part a group of strong females.

While many have adopted that whole grrl power thing, we prefer terms which signify our mature status as women.

After reading this story, "Lesbian Detectives Still a Minority in Mainstream Publishing" at AfterEllen.com, I wondered about the possible need for bookstores to offer various genres by sexual orientation. Do we need a "lesbian mystery" section? Are categories such as this needed? Or are we segregating books based on the orientations of the characters? Is this a risk, potentially devaluating the book's worth, as it is labeled "lesbian/gay" as opposed to "a good story?"
"I started modeling because I couldn’t get anyone in my high school to do nudes, so I started having to do self-portraits..."
The Baroness, fashion Goddess, artistic soul with authority issues, is also a Dominatrix.

Who says you can't have it all?

The Path of A Fashion Designer Starts With Classic Films & A Tight Skirt
Ironically, The name in latex fashion, an icon herself, never played with the plastic fashion doll Barbie. The Baroness doesn't settle for poor substitutions ~ she wants the real thing. Forget about Barbie ~ she wants to dress you, yes you, up!
Let's face it, women have needs. And that includes the need to say something. Anything. And you must be prepared to say it whenever the need arises.
The adoration of the female form is not a pleasure reserved only for straight men, lesbian women, & drag queens.
Ever read the reports & findings of sexuality studies, and wonder ‘Where do they find those people?!’
Tips for lovers at gift giving times.
The seven approaches in the 'technique of seduction,' that men use on women. As written in 1940 ~ But has anything really changed?
I don’t know what all the fuss is about, kids, but lately Gracie has received some emails from women ~ frantic women who are worried about how they look in bed to their partners.

Once again, science astounds us with findings that we already knew.

Plenty of times we here at Sex-Kitten.Net have commented on our love of the female form & how looking at images of sexy women turns us on.
