Well, I was into the politics of the time.  Unfortunately, anyone who opposed the war was unpatriotic.  And the sentiments that grew out of that conflict are still with us.  I can understand the resentment, yes, even hatred, of the men who were reviled as they walked off the airplanes from that war. 

It is only in the last year that anyone who opposes the war in Iraq is not automatically unpatriotic.  At least we have learned one thing...we have at least evolved the idea we can support our boys fighting while, at the same time, oppose the war.  

I, for one, respect anyone who is willing to use their celebrity to work for a cause they believe in.  Leonardo DeCaprio works against global warming.  Bono believes strongly in helping the starving in Africa.  Oprah believes in educating the young of South Africa.  And Jane Fonda is anti-war.  It is heartening to see that this aspect of her politics has not changed over the years.
